Practical Pet Grooming

The complete accredited short course — bath to finished groom. Practical Pet Grooming covers safe handling for every stage of the groom, recognising coat types, and choosing the correct tools, equipment and products — ideal if you're heading into professional grooming or starting your own business.

How it works

• Practical component — 4 weeks (20 days) of hands-on training with our academy.
• Theory component — online via Heiniger Academy, with up to 6 months to complete from enrolment.
• Units of competency: ACMGRM201 — Bath, dry and brush domestic dogs; ACMGRM303 — Provide sanitary and hygiene grooms; ACMGRM304 — Provide grooms on cross breed dogs; ACMGRM305 — Groom dogs to meet breed style and coat requirements; ACMGRM403 — Enhance companion animal coat and skin conditions (prerequisite units incorporated in the skill set).
• You'll build and submit a portfolio of work, and on completion receive a Statement of Attainment — usable as credit transfer toward the ACM30122 Certificate III in Animal Care Services.

Our academy is not a Registered Training Organisation. This course is delivered in conjunction with Heiniger Academy (RTO 40888), the issuing RTO responsible for AQF certification.
